Background

Mind Hub is a project that my team created during the 2-week Design Sprint held by the Design Interactive Club @UC Davis, and we tackled this prompt below:

<aside> đź’ˇ Studying in groups is a great way to hone your skills in a particular subject and gain team experience! However, creating an effective study group is a daunting, trial-and-error task that rarely yields tangible results. Finding individuals who complement your academic needs is integral to building a successful study group.

User Research

Our first step was doing user research including giving out surveys and doing one-to-one interviews to get some insights on what features to put into the application.

Survey and Interview

We surveyed 30 students to ask them how they usually find others to study with, how successful they are to find a study group, what their studying style was, and what they’d like to see in an app that provides a personalized search for potential study buddies.

We also conducted 8 one-on-one interviews to get in-depth answers about their study habits and see what they want to get out of a study group in general.
